Ronald H. Rappaport died suddenly on Friday night, June 7, 2024. This shocking news leaves us and so many with a devastating hole. Since MVYouth’s inception 10 years ago, Ron served as both a Trustee and the Chair of our Advisory Board. In this dual role, Ron was a dedicated leader for our Island advisors and a bridge to the Trustees of MVYouth. 

Most importantly, Ron led us with his deep wisdom, impeccable integrity, and respect for everyone. Ron’s keen awareness of the Island’s needs and complexities constantly enriched our organization’s ability to effectively support the MV community. Ron was informed, efficient, and committed to making life better for young people on Martha’s Vineyard. Born in Oak Bluffs, municipal attorney for five of the six island towns and the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank, and a central figure in many nonprofit organizations in his life, Ron was connected to nearly everything on the Vineyard. Ron will be dearly missed.
