MV Arena

The Martha's Vineyard Ice Arena remains a community rink where people of all ages, abilities, and experience learn new skills and build self-confidence in a safe and inclusive environment. From tiny skaters to adult hockey players, the Arena fosters community engagement and enriches the lives of children, teenagers, and adults. In 2024, the Arena bustled with hockey players, figure skaters, tournaments, ice shows, and public skating sessions. On average, over 1,500 Islanders walked through the facility’s sliding glass doors multiple times to practice, compete, and preform. MV Youth Hockey continued to offer opportunities at the House Mites, Girls Ospreys, U8, U10, U12 and U14 levels. Focused on early exposure and skill development, the Learn to Play Program entered its second year and successfully enhanced the House Mites Program. Under the guidance of dedicated volunteer coaches, the U8-U14 competitive teams saw tremendous growth in talent, proudly securing multiple tournament-winning banners in all divisions. Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School continued its rich tradition of strong hockey programs. With skill, determination, and enormous pride of place, the boys and girls teams both qualified and advanced in the state playoff tournaments. MV Figure Skating Club continued to build an ice-friendly foundation with the youngest of skaters through the Learn to Skate Program. The MV Figure Skating Club Bridge Program offered skaters the opportunity to cultivate intricate footwork, spiral, spin, and jump skills to advance to the Freestyle Program. These participants are dedicated youth who train countless hours to compete and test with U.S. Figure Skating. The Martha’s Vineyard Ice Arena community remains incredibly grateful to MVYouth for their unwavering support, not only providing an environment for physical activity, but the ability for Island youth to create lasting friendships and transferable life skills.
